| This table is identical to the one on page 70 of the book "Early Texas Furniture and Decorative Arts" by Steinfeldt and Stover, published in conjunction with an exhibition of early Texas furniture and decorative arts held at the Witte Memorial Museum in San Antonio. This example is also from the Columbus, Colorado County area, and is said to have been made by Melcher, of LaGrange. The table is of curly pine, and retains its original finish. |
